Dolphins on their terms, in the water where they live

Snorkeling in the Red Sea at Sataya Bay pairs swimming with wild dolphins in their natural habitat alongside two reef sessions where hammerhead sharks, moray eels and coral gardens fill the water. Hotel pickup, a guide in your language, lunch prepared on board, snorkeling equipment and life jacket are included; the day runs ten hours from pickup to return.

The Experience

The minibus collects you from your hotel in the early morning and drives to the port, where a boat waits to carry you across the Red Sea toward Sataya Bay. This is the destination: a bay where wild dolphins live and feed, and where you enter the water to swim among them on their schedule, not in a pen. The boat ride itself is part of the day—the Red Sea spreads around you, and there is time to settle on deck before the first encounter. A guide travels with you, speaks your language (English, Italian, German or Arabic), and stays present throughout.

Once at Sataya Bay, you put on a snorkel and enter the water to find the dolphins. This is not a guarantee—they are wild animals—but Sataya Bay is where they congregate, and the timing and location give you the best chance. After the dolphin session, the boat moves to two separate snorkeling sites where the reef itself becomes the focus. Hammerhead sharks, moray eels, colorful fish and coral formations fill these waters. You have the equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, life jacket) and the time to explore; the guide is there if you need assistance or have questions about what you are seeing.

Lunch is prepared fresh on board and served in the afternoon, giving you a break to rest and watch the sea. By late afternoon, the boat returns to port, and the minibus takes you back to your hotel. Soft drinks are unlimited throughout the day. The whole outing takes ten hours from pickup to drop-off.

Is this one for you?The ten-hour commitment means you lose most of a day to the activity, which suits a traveler with a full day free and no other plans in that window. If your schedule is fragmented or you want to combine this with other stops or meals in town, the length and the early start make it difficult to fit alongside anything else.
