The experience

What makes this different from a shared boat tour is the freedom to set the pace. You decide whether the day is about snorkeling, diving, sunbathing or a mix of all three. The boat stays where you want it to stay. A professional instructor is on board, and snorkeling gear (mask, fins and life jackets) comes with the charter. Lunch is prepared on board: seafood, rice, pasta, vegetables and three kinds of salad.

The boat itself is built for comfort. A spacious salon keeps you cool between water time, and there's a freshwater shower on deck to rinse off salt. The upper deck has shaded areas for relaxing without sun exposure. All surfaces are wheelchair accessible, and the boat can accommodate infants in a pram or stroller. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport to the marina.

The day runs about seven and a half hours. A guide speaks English, Italian, German, Arabic and one additional language. Water, coffee, tea and soda are provided throughout. Government fees of $200 and entrance fees of $5 per person to the protected area are paid when you arrive at the marina.
