2-Day PADI Scuba Diver: Egyptian Red Sea
Three classroom sessions, two dives in open water, one instructor guiding you through the basics
A 2-day PADI Scuba Diver course in the Egyptian Red Sea teaches you the fundamentals of scuba diving under the supervision of a certified PADI instructor. You'll complete three confined water sessions and three knowledge development sessions, then make two open water dives at a maximum depth of 12 meters. All diving equipment, a buffet lunch, beverages and hotel pickup are included; children from age 10 are welcome.
The Experience
The course spreads across two days so you can learn without rushing through the basics. You'll start with confined water sessions where an instructor walks you through dive equipment, breathing techniques and safety procedures before you ever enter the open sea. The three knowledge development sessions cover the theory you need—buoyancy control, equalizing pressure, reading gauges—so when you descend into the Red Sea, you're not learning it for the first time.
Your two open water dives happen in the Egyptian Red Sea itself, aboard one of Pyramids Diving Center's own boats. You stay within 12 meters depth while your instructor stays with you the entire time, watching your technique and answering questions as they come up. The water is clear enough to see the reef structure and the fish moving through it, and you're moving through it yourself instead of watching from above. A buffet lunch and soft drinks are provided between dives and after you surface.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, so you don't arrange transport to the dive center. Bring a current valid passport, a towel, and any medications you take regularly. All diving equipment—wetsuit, tank, regulator, fins, mask—is provided. If you want underwater photos or a DVD of your dives, those are available to purchase separately. After you finish, you'll receive your PADI e-certificate; a printed manual is also available if you want it.

What's the difference between this course and a full PADI certification?
The PADI Scuba Diver course is part of the PADI Open Water Diver certification pathway. You complete the same three confined water sessions and knowledge development, plus two open water dives, but your depth limit stays at 12 meters. If you want to dive deeper or make independent dives later, you'll need to finish the full Open Water course, which requires a private dive guide for any guided dives after this course ends.
Can I bring my 10-year-old child?
Yes, children from age 10 are welcome on the course. All participants complete a health questionnaire before diving, and some medical conditions may prevent participation—check with your doctor if your child has asthma, heart conditions or other pre-existing health concerns.
What happens if I've flown to Egypt recently?
Diving within 24 hours of flying is not recommended because of the risk of decompression sickness. If you've arrived within the last day, wait before booking this course.
Is the instructor English-speaking?
The PADI instructor speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French and several other languages, so you can choose the language that works for you.
What's included in the price?
All diving equipment, a buffet lunch, hot and cold beverages, hotel pickup and drop-off, and instruction from a PADI professional are included. Underwater photos and DVDs are available to purchase separately, as is a printed PADI manual if you want a physical copy alongside your e-certificate.
Do I need to bring anything?
Bring a current valid passport, a towel, and any regular medications. All diving gear is provided by the center.
