Between dives and after the second one, you have time to snorkel from the boat's deck or simply rest on the open balcony while the crew prepares lunch. The meal is an open buffet served on board, with unlimited water and soft drinks throughout the trip. You'll have underwater cameras available if you want to capture the moment, though most people spend the surface time watching the water and the horizon.
The whole outing runs seven hours from pickup to drop-off. Snorkeling equipment is included alongside the diving gear, so if you decide mid-trip that you'd rather stay on the surface, the option is there.
