The experience
You're picked up from your hotel around 10 am in an air-conditioned bus and driven 20 minutes to the New Harbor in Hurghada. The glass bottom boat waits there, and once you climb aboard, the real work is done: you find a spot at the windows and the boat does the rest. The ship cruises the big reefs at a slow pace, which is the whole point. It gives you time to actually see what's moving below instead of rushing past it.
The windows run along both sides of the keel, so you're not craning your neck at one porthole. Colorful fish dart through the corals, and because the boat stays shallow and moves slowly, the view stays clear. After an hour on the water, you head back to port. The return trip is yours to spend however you want: some people stay at the windows, others head up on deck to watch the Red Sea from above and let the breeze do the work.
The whole outing runs about three hours from pickup to drop-off. The bus ride back to your hotel gives you time to rest, and you're back with the afternoon still ahead of you.
