Safaga snorkeling: Red Sea submarine cruise, stay dry
Watch the reef come alive from an air-conditioned cabin underwater
A semi-submarine cruise in Safaga lets you descend to 4 meters below the surface and watch Red Sea coral reefs and marine life without entering the water. An expert guide narrates the 90-minute voyage, and pickup from your hotel is included. The cabin stays dry and air-conditioned while you observe the reef's colors and activity up close.
Step-by-step itinerary
Red Sea submarine cruise experience
- Climb aboard Royal Seascope submarine
- Descend to view coral reefs
- Observe marine life with guide narration
- Cruise underwater for 90 minutes
The Experience
The Royal Seascope semi-submarine departs from Safaga twice daily—at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm—and takes you out into the Red Sea famous for its coral reefs. You climb aboard, take a seat in the air-conditioned cabin, and descend to 4 meters as the submarine moves through the water. Large windows let you watch the reef pass by: the coral formations, the fish moving through them, the naturalistic colors that make up the underwater landscape. Your guide narrates what you're seeing the whole time, pointing out details and explaining the marine life that lives on the reef.
The 90-minute voyage keeps you dry and comfortable while still getting you close to the reef. You don't need to know how to snorkel or dive, and you don't need to enter the water at all. Infants and small children can ride along, and the submarine is wheelchair accessible. Pickup from your hotel is included, along with the air-conditioned vehicle that brings you to the boat. The tour operates from Safaga and also visits Makadi Bay.

Yes. Children are welcome from age 1, and infants can sit on an adult's lap during the voyage. The submarine is also wheelchair accessible for guests who need it.
