The experience

The day starts at the Giza Pyramids: the three monumental tombs of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus, built during Egypt's Old Kingdom and counted among the Seven Wonders of the World. The guide walks you through what made these structures the greatest in human history, then takes you to the Great Sphinx, the limestone statue built to protect the royal burial site and carved to represent the king's mental and physical power combined. Both sites sit on the Giza plateau near Cairo, and the private vehicle means you move between them without waiting for a group to assemble.

After Giza, the tour heads south to Saqqara, another major necropolis near Cairo. The centerpiece is the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's oldest major stone structure and the first pyramid ever built in Egypt, constructed in the 3rd Dynasty.
