The experience

Hotel pickup in Cairo or Giza starts the day, and your guide meets you at the vehicle: a private air-conditioned limousine that stays with you for all four stops. The Giza Plateau comes first, where your Egyptologist introduces the three main pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus and explains the construction methods. If you want, you can arrange a camel or horse ride at the site itself. The Great Sphinx and Valley Temple sit in the same complex, and your guide walks you through the pharaonic burial rites before moving on.

Saqqara's Step Pyramid of King Djoser, built around 2630 BC, is the world's oldest major stone structure: a stop that anchors the tour's span of Egyptian history. From there, the route continues to Memphis, Egypt's former capital and cultural center of the ancient world, where the open-air museum holds the Colossus of Ramses II, the largest statue at the site. The day closes with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel.

Water is provided throughout. Bring sunglasses, a hat or head scarf, and your camera. The Giza area operates between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM with no ticket limits, and lunch options are available at small extra cost. International student cards receive 50% off the adult rate. Note that entrance fees require Egyptian Pounds, which your guide can advise on.
