The experience

The tour starts at 8:00 am with pickup from your Cairo or Giza hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle. You'll head straight to the Giza Plateau, where the three main pyramids (the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure) stand across the desert sands. Your guide walks you around the base of each one, explaining the pharaonic history, the engineering that built them, and the mysteries that still surround their construction. You get time to walk, photograph, and take in the panoramic views without rushing through.

The tour includes a stop at Nazlet El-Semman, the village at the base of the plateau, where you'll see authentic local Egyptian life, street markets, and the traditional stables where horses and camels have been kept by families for generations. From there you move to the Valley Temple, where priests once mummified the pharaohs, and get a close-up view of the Great Sphinx: the limestone guardian with a lion's body and the head of King Khafre. This is where most travelers spend time photographing. Your guide will help you find the angles and positions that work.

Bottled water is provided throughout the tour to keep you hydrated in Cairo's heat. The entire experience runs 4 to 5 hours, ending with drop-off back at your hotel. If you want to enter any pyramid from inside, visit the solar boat of King Cheops, ride a camel around the plateau, or ride a quad bike into the desert, those can be added at checkout for extra fees.
