The experience

The day starts with a flight from Sharm el Sheikh to Cairo in the morning, followed by hotel pickup and transfer to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. This museum holds over 120,000 artifacts spanning the Pharaonic, Greek, and Roman periods, and your guide will walk you through the highlights, including Tutankhamun's collection. If you want to see the mummies' hall, that's an optional add-on for 300 LE per person. The museum visit sets the historical context before you move on to the sites themselves.

From there, you head to the Pyramids of Giza to see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Chephren, and the Pyramid of Mycerinus. You'll also visit the Great Sphinx, the limestone guardian with a pharaoh's head and a lion's body. Your guide provides commentary and context at each stop, and you get time to photograph from the high point overlooking all three pyramids. The return flight to Sharm el Sheikh departs in the late afternoon, timed so you're back at your hotel by evening.
