Step-by-step itinerary
Quad biking and local exploration
- Meet at Al Remaya Square
- Receive safety briefing
- Ride quad bike in desert
- View Pyramids and Sphinx
- Visit papyrus making site
- See essential oil factory
- Explore traditional bazaar
The experience
The ride starts at Al Remaya Square, where your guide gives you a safety overview before heading into the desert near the pyramids. Once you're set up on the quad bike, you control the speed across the soft sands: high-speed runs are part of the experience, and the Great Pyramids stay visible throughout. You'll see all three main pyramids (Cheops, Chephren and Mekerinos) and the Sphinx from the desert floor while you're riding, not from a distance.
After the quad section, the guide takes you to three stops in the local area. At a papyrus workshop, you watch how ancient Egyptians made papyrus from plants. The essential oil factory shows how natural flowers become oils. The traditional bazaar lets you see cartouches being carved by hand. These stops are part of the same outing and give you a sense of how people work near the pyramids today.
You pick between a 30-minute ride or a 1-hour session when you book. Both include the guide, the safety briefing and the three workshop visits. The quad bike ride itself happens outside the historical monument area, so you're not riding through protected zones. You're in the open desert where the pyramids form the backdrop.
