The experience

The tour leaves Cairo in the morning and heads toward Bahariya Oasis, where you stop for lunch before the jeep safari begins. Your first camp sits in the Mttar area after you've crossed the Black Desert, visited El Hez village, seen the cold spring, and driven past Crystal Mountain. The landscape shifts each day: on day two you move through Aqapat Desert toward the Karaween Dunes and the Magic Spring, camping in the dunes that night. Day three takes you into the New White Desert, where you collect flower stones along the way and visit the best-known formations, then swing through the Old White Desert before returning to camp under the stars.

The final day reverses the route back to the oasis. You stop at the Green Spring for lunch, then check into a hotel at Bahariya before a local tour covers the palm gardens, the salty lake, the dunes, and the Pyramid Mountain. The tour ends at the English Mountain at sunset, then drives back to Cairo. A live English-speaking guide leads the whole trip, and all meals plus bottled water come with the price.
