"Wait, I don't need a license?" That's the first thing most people ask when they pull up to the starting point, and the answer is yes: the guides train you on the ATV before you go anywhere. You'll spend the first thirty minutes learning the basics, getting comfortable with the throttle and the turns on flat ground, until the instructor is satisfied you can handle the trails. Then you're off, and the dust starts flying. The buggy tour takes you through working coffee and cacao plantations in Punta Cana, where you'll see how the beans grow and get processed, and stop to taste the chocolate and coffee straight from the source: organic, no chemicals added. It's not a museum experience. You're riding past actual plants, actual farmers, actual work happening.
After the plantations, you get a cigar tasting (Dominican cigars, hand-rolled, and yeah, you can try one if you want). Then comes the part that makes the adrenaline part of the description actually true: the ride gets rougher.
