Small Group ATV Adventure: Water Cave and Macao Beach
Four stops on an ATV: farm, cave, beach, and the ride between them
A small-group ATV tour where you ride your own vehicle in rally style through Dominican countryside, stopping at an organic farm for tastings, a 25-foot water cave for swimming, and Macao Beach with its limestone cliffs. The guide leads the caravan, handles safety, and the whole day—transportation, helmet, and route—is arranged; you just ride.
Step-by-step itinerary
ATV tour to farm, cave, and beach
- Pickup and transport to ATV ranch
- Health and safety briefing
- ATV ride through forests and gardens
- Stop at organic farm for tasting
- ATV ride to water cave
- Swim and admire water cave
- ATV ride to Macao Beach
- Relax at Macao Beach
- Return to ATV ranch and transport back
The Experience
After a 30-minute drive to the ATV ranch, you'll spend 15 minutes on safety and handling before mounting your own machine. Then the caravan rolls out: 25 minutes of rough roads cutting between forests and gardens to reach the first real stop. The pace is rally-style, meaning you follow the guide's line and keep formation, but you control your own throttle and line choice the whole way.
At the Dominican farm, you'll taste and learn about local organic products—coffee, chocolate, green tea, mamajuana, cigars—in about 20 minutes, then ride another 25 minutes to the water cave. The cave sits 25 feet deep with water cold enough to jump into; swimmers do, and everyone stands in the space itself rather than looking from a platform. After 20 minutes there, another 25-minute ride carries you to Macao Beach, where limestone cliffs frame the sand and waves. You'll have 20 minutes to sit in it before the final 25-minute ride back to the ranch and the 30-minute drive home.
The guide rides with the group throughout and speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese or French depending on the option you choose. Helmets are provided. The whole outing runs about 4 hours from pickup to drop-off, and you must be at least 18 to ride your own ATV—children 11 and up can ride as passengers on a shared machine if you book a two-person ATV option.

Can I ride my own ATV, or do I share one with someone else?
You choose at checkout. The "1 Person per ATV" option means you ride solo; the "2 Adults Shared ATV" and "2 Person Shared ATV" options mean you and a passenger take turns or ride together on one machine. Only the solo rider and adults on the two-adult option can operate the vehicle; children ride as passengers.
What happens at the water cave—can I swim in it?
The water cave is 25 feet deep with fresh water. Swimmers jump and swim; non-swimmers can wade, stand in the shallows, or simply look around. You'll spend about 20 minutes there, so there's time to do whatever suits you.
How much riding time is actually on the ATV versus stops?
You'll ride roughly 25 minutes to each stop (farm, cave, beach), plus 25 minutes returning to the ranch—about 100 minutes of actual riding spread across the 4-hour day. The rest is the drive to the ranch, safety briefing, and time at each location.
What's included in the price, and what do I need to bring?
Round-trip transportation to and from the ranch, the helmet, tastings at the farm, and the guide are all included. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a bandana or hat if you want one; the operator doesn't provide those. Towels aren't included either.
Is this tour suitable if I've never ridden an ATV before?
Yes—the guide gives a 15-minute safety and handling briefing before you start, and the tour is suitable for all fitness levels. You do need to be at least 18 years old to operate the ATV yourself, and the tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy.
What language does the guide speak?
The guide is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or French depending on which option you select at checkout.
