The day splits into two halves. You start with the ATV portion: after receiving your helmet and safety equipment, you follow a guide on your own vehicle through rural routes, trails and streams that don't connect to any paved road. The countryside section is what separates this from a standard city tour. You're operating the machine yourself, not watching from a bus seat, and the terrain (streams, unpaved trails, natural landscapes) is only reachable on foot or by ATV.

After the riding ends, the excursion moves into Puerto Plata's historic district. A guide leads you through the San Felipe Fortress, the Dominican Amber Museum, Central Park with its Victorian architecture, and Umbrella Street (the famous "Street of Parasols").
