Step-by-step itinerary
Beer tasting tour in Copenhagen
- Meet guide at Hotel d'Angleterre
- Visit 3 beer venues in Old Town or Nyhavn
- Taste 4-8 Danish beers including craft beers
- Enjoy traditional Danish snacks and appetizers
The experience
You meet your guide in front of Hotel d'Angleterre at Kongens Nytorv, then move through the Old Town, Indre By and Nyhavn to taste beers at venues the guide knows. The 2-hour option takes you to 2 venues for 4 beers: a popular Danish brew, a regional one, and two craft beers from independent breweries. The 3-hour tour visits the same number of stops but adds 6 beers total with traditional Danish appetizers and snacks. The 4-hour version expands to 3 venues, 8 beers including five craft selections, and a full spread of snacks, appetizers and hot dishes at one of the stops.
Your guide selects the beers to show you how different styles are brewed and what sets them apart, from classic Danish lagers to regional specialties to small-batch craft beers. You'll taste how the flavors compare and learn the story behind Danish brewing, all while moving through neighborhoods where locals actually drink. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of three other languages, so the tour works whether this is your first beer tasting or your tenth. Groups stay under 23 people per guide, which means you're not herded through a crowded bar.
Arrive on time at the meeting point. The guide will wait up to 30 minutes if you're delayed, but late arrival can affect table reservations at the venues. Check your email the day before for any last-minute details. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, let the operator know in advance so they can arrange the food tastings accordingly. The legal drinking age in Denmark is 18.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian and Danish.
What's the difference between the 2-hour, 3-hour and 4-hour beer tasting options?
The 2-hour option includes 4 beers at 2 venues with no food. The 3-hour tour adds 2 more beers and traditional Danish appetizers and snacks at the same 2 venues. The 4-hour version expands to 3 venues, 8 beers total, and a variety of snacks, appetizers and hot dishes served at one location.
How much beer will I actually drink on this tour?
A popular Danish beer pours 0.3 to 0.5 liters, a regional beer is 0.2 liters, and craft beers are 0.125 liters each. The exact total depends on which option you book. The 2-hour tour is 4 beers, the 3-hour is 6, and the 4-hour is 8.
Can I do this tour if I don't know much about beer?
Yes. The tour is designed as an introduction to Danish beer regardless of your knowledge or interest level. Your guide will explain how each beer is brewed and what makes it different, so you'll learn as you taste.
What happens if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies?
Tell the operator in advance about any dietary requirements, including vegetarian preferences or allergies. Food is served at only one venue per tour, since pubs and breweries typically don't have full food menus, so advance notice helps them arrange what works for you.
Is this tour wheelchair accessible?
Yes. All areas and surfaces at the venues are wheelchair accessible, and transportation options are wheelchair accessible as well. Infants can ride in a pram or stroller, and public transportation is available nearby if you prefer not to walk between stops.
