The Try Scuba Experience in Protaras is a guided introduction to diving that combines classroom instruction, confined-water practice, and an open-water dive at Green Bay, where you meet sea life including turtles and fish. The session runs about 3 hours total, including pickup and drop-off from your hotel. A live guide leads the experience in English or French, and all scuba equipment is provided. The minimum age is 18.

The experience

If you've got a free afternoon and no diving certification yet, this is how you start. You meet at the diving center in Protaras for a safety briefing that covers what you need to know before entering the water. The instructor walks you through the equipment, the signals, and the basics of breathing underwater. Everything that keeps you calm and in control. Then you move into the water for practice: you'll work through skills in a controlled setting so you're confident before the real dive.

Once you're ready, you head out to Green Bay for the actual dive. This is where the underwater world opens up. You'll see fish moving through the water around you and encounter turtles in their habitat. The guide stays with you the whole time, pointing out what's there and making sure you're comfortable. Feeding the fish and interacting with the turtles is part of what makes this dive memorable. It's not just watching from a distance.

The whole experience, from pickup at your hotel to drop-off afterward, takes around 3 hours. All the scuba gear is included, so you don't need to bring or rent anything separately. The guide speaks English or French depending on what you need.
