The experience
The morning starts at a village house in the Troodos mountains where you'll learn the traditional technique from a local cheesemaker. You begin at the farm itself, milking goats and sheep to collect fresh milk, then move into the cheese-making premises to make your own halloumi. The workshop ends with a sit-down brunch that includes the cheese you just made, village bread, farm fresh eggs, smoked ham, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, jams and honey. Tea, coffee and homemade lemonade are served throughout.
After brunch, the afternoon takes you deeper into the mountain villages to visit a honey producer, a traditional sweets workshop, and a local making products with donkey milk. Each stop includes tastings of what they make. You'll also spend time in Lefkara, the quaint village known for its handmade lace, where you can watch the local women at work and shop for souvenirs. The whole day is eight hours from pickup to return.
Everything is included in the price: all entrance and tasting fees, the air-conditioned vehicle, the guide who speaks English and Greek, and every meal and drink. There are no hidden costs or surprise charges at any stop.
