An introduction shore dive in Curaçao with two dives, equipment, guide and pickup included. Small groups dive the reefs and wrecks accessible from shore across the island, led by guides fluent in English, Spanish or Dutch. Children from age 10 are welcome. Allow 12 hours between your last dive and any flight.

The experience

Scubaçao picks you up in a four-seat double cabin truck: marked with a sign, or meet the guide at the Starbucks near the cruise pier if you're arriving by ship. The truck takes you to whichever shore-accessible dive site suits the day's conditions and your experience level, whether that's a steep drop-off on the eastern side of the island or the coral reefs in the west. Two dives make up the outing, with time between them to rest and refuel.

Your guide has worked the reefs and wrecks around Curaçao long enough to read the marine life and the conditions. They'll help you improve your technique while you explore. The operator keeps groups small specifically so each diver gets personal attention, not a cattle-call briefing. You get the full equipment setup, plus towels, cookies and cold water for the surface intervals.

The whole outing runs five to six hours from pickup to drop-off. You'll need to fill out a medical form before the dive, and the operator enforces a 12-hour gap between your last dive and any flight. Plan accordingly if you're flying out the same day.
