Dive into a sunken merchant ship, then drift in crystal water off private beaches.

Private speedboat snorkeling in the Korčula Archipelago combines three hours exploring a 1981 shipwreck (bow at 5 meters, stern at 15 meters depth) and two hidden beaches accessible only by sea. The boat picks you up, provides snorkeling gear and a live English-speaking guide, and serves cold drinks throughout. Not suitable for pregnant travelers or those with cardiovascular concerns.

Step-by-step itinerary

Explore Korčula Archipelago highlights

  • Snorkel around 1981 shipwreck
  • Visit secluded Trubica pebble beach
  • Explore Planjak island beaches and rocks

The experience

The Boka, a 106-meter merchant ship, sank in 1981 after hitting the Pelješac Peninsula coast during a sudden storm. Today its lower hull sits intact on the seabed with the engine, propeller and cargo spaces still preserved, now home to fish and plant species that have colonized the wreck. You descend to snorkel around these underwater structures (the bow rests at 5 meters depth, the stern at 15 meters), and see how the ship has become an artificial reef. The upper sections were cut away long ago, leaving the working parts of the vessel exposed to explore.

After the wreck, the boat takes you to Trubica beach, a pebble cove surrounded by privacy and accessible only by sea. The water here runs so clear you can see the bottom from the surface. A third stop at Planjak island offers more snorkeling around smooth rock slabs and three additional pebble beaches. Throughout the three hours, your guide stays with the group, and the boat crew keeps cold drinks on hand to refresh you between water time.

Pickup is included, so you don't arrange separate transport to the departure point. The speedboat is private to your group, meaning no strangers share the boat or the stops. You bring only a swimsuit and towel. Snorkeling equipment, weights and any other gear come with the booking.

Top questions

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What exactly is the Boka shipwreck like underwater?

The Boka is a 106-meter merchant ship that sank in 1981 and now rests on the seabed with its bow at 5 meters depth and stern at 15 meters. The upper hull was cut away, but the engine, propeller and cargo spaces remain intact and are home to fish and plant life. You snorkel around these preserved sections as part of the tour.

How deep do I need to dive to see the shipwreck?

The shallowest part of the wreck is at 5 meters depth, so snorkeling from the surface lets you see into the upper sections. The stern extends to 15 meters, which is deeper than snorkeling reaches, but the main structures and cargo areas are accessible in shallower water.

What happens if I don't have snorkeling experience?

All snorkeling equipment is provided, and your live guide is in the water with you. The tour suits all physical fitness levels, though it is not recommended for pregnant travelers or anyone with cardiovascular health concerns.

Do I need to arrange my own way to the boat?

Pickup is included in the booking, so the boat collects you from your accommodation or a meeting point. You don't need a car or separate transport to reach the departure location.

What is Trubica beach like?

Trubica is a white pebble beach in a private bay accessible only by sea. The water is extremely clear, and the cove is surrounded by peace and privacy: no crowds or road access reach it.
