The Experience
You start with a safety gear check and a briefing from a professional guide who speaks English, so you know what each piece of equipment does and what to expect in the water. The Cetina River canyon is the stage — you'll raft through sections of it, then leave the boat to climb, jump from rocks into the water, snorkel in the clear sections, slide down natural rock formations and hike along the canyon floor. The guide controls the pace and stays with the group the whole time, so you're moving between activities, not sitting and watching.
If you book from Split, the minivan picks you up and the drive takes roughly 45 minutes each way depending on traffic. You can also choose the Blato departure and arrange your own way there. Either way, snacks are included during the day, and all the gear — wetsuit, helmet, life jacket, snorkel — comes with you. The three to four hour timeframe is the activity itself; add the transfer time if you're coming from Split.
The river is the draw: crystal clear water, a narrow canyon with high walls, and enough variety that the day doesn't repeat itself. You're not on a boat watching a guide point things out. You're in the water, on the rocks, moving through the landscape yourself.

Can I do this if I'm not a strong swimmer?
Snorkeling and canyoning on the Cetina River are suitable for all physical fitness levels. You wear a life jacket and a professional guide stays with the group, so swimming ability matters less than comfort in water and willingness to follow instructions. The guide will brief you on what to expect before you start.
What's the difference between the Split departures and the Blato option?
The 08:45 and 14:15 departures from Split include round-trip transport by air-conditioned minivan, with a 45-minute drive each way. The Blato option has no transport included, so you arrange your own way to the meeting point. The activity itself is the same on all three.
Is snorkeling the main thing, or is it just one part of the day?
Snorkeling is one part of a mix. The day includes rafting, cliff jumping, snorkeling, swimming, sliding down rock formations and hiking through the canyon. You move between these activities throughout the three to four hours, so you're doing multiple things rather than focusing on one.
What happens if I'm not comfortable with a cliff jump or another activity?
The guide will brief you on every activity before you do it, and you can ask questions or ask the guide to repeat anything that isn't clear. You're in a small group with a professional guide the whole time, so they can adjust to your comfort level.
Do I need to bring my own snorkeling gear?
No. Snorkeling equipment is included with the activity, along with all other safety gear — wetsuit, helmet, life jacket. You bring a swimsuit and a towel.
