The experience

The boat leaves from a pre-arranged pickup point in Trogir and heads first to Milna, a small village on Brač dating back to the 16th century. An hour here gives you time to sit in one of the waterfront bars or walk the old streets before the tour continues toward Šolta. The first stop there is Necujam Bay, the island's largest bay and now its most popular spot because of a shipwreck that sits in the clear water below.

Maslinica, on Šolta's west side, is the only village there: a place where a restored 16th-century castle now operates as a luxury hotel and the streets feel frozen in time. You can grab lunch here if you didn't eat in Milna, then the boat takes you to the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon when the crowds thin out. The water is the reason for the name: jump in and snorkel for a few minutes and you'll see why. After that comes a hidden beach, wide and sandy, still not crowded the way the main sites are.
