The experience
Most visitors to Hvar see the coast: the Pakleni islands, the restaurants, the nightlife. This tour goes inland, where the island opens up to views that stretch across lavender fields toward Vis, Korčula, Brač and Šolta. Your guide picks you up at your hotel and takes the "old road," passing through villages most tourists skip. You stop to breathe in the lavender air and take in the landscape, then drive toward Svirče.
At a family-run olive oil producer, you taste single and multi-blend extra virgin oils and learn how they're made. It's a working farm, not a tourist setup, and the tasting happens indoors: a break from the sun. On the drive back toward Hvar, you pass through Ager, a UNESCO-protected plain that holds the best-preserved Greek cadastre in the Mediterranean. Then comes the final stop: Malo Grablje, a village founded in the 16th century and abandoned decades ago. You walk through it with your guide, who explains what you're seeing.
The tour runs three hours total. Bottled water is included, and the vehicle is air-conditioned. Your guide speaks English and knows the island well enough to show you what locals see, not what guidebooks list.
