The tour leaves from your hotel in Hvar town and heads first to Malo Grablje, an abandoned village where stone houses without doors or windows sit among mills, barns and churches. Then you're in the lavender fields themselves, the purple rows that appear on postcards and in every description of Hvar. You walk through them, smell them, and learn how they're grown and why they matter to the local economy. The eTuk Tuk is small enough to navigate the narrow roads and quiet enough that you hear the guide; it's not the experience of a coach full of thirty people.

The tour continues to Brusje, where a honey tasting is included—local honey, olive oil, dried figs and homemade brandy give you a sense of what the island produces. The tasting is a sample, not a full meal, but it's real food from real producers. The last stop is Fortica Fortress, the Spanish fortress that rises above Hvar town.
