The experience
The speedboat leaves Split early and covers ground fast. The first 90 minutes take you to Biševo Island and the Blue Cave, where sunlight refracts through a crack in the stone to fill the chamber with silvery-blue light. From there the boat heads to Komiža, a working fishing village on Vis that doubled as a filming location for Mamma Mia 2, where you get free time to walk the waterfront or grab coffee. The captain then makes a photo stop at the Stupišće Military Base, a former secret Yugoslav rocket facility carved into the island's limestone, before moving on to see the caves that ridge the coastline.
Stiniva Cove comes next: a narrow sea entrance opens onto a secluded pebble beach ringed by dramatic cliffs, with water clear enough to see the bottom. You have time to swim and take photos. The longer break happens at Veli Budikovac, where the Blue Lagoon's turquoise shallows are perfect for snorkeling. The crew provides the gear. A short sightseeing pass by the Pakleni Islands rounds out the island-hopping before the boat reaches Hvar, Dalmatia's busiest harbor town, where you can explore the old town, climb to the fortress for views of the surrounding sea, or eat lunch before the return to Split.
The tour runs 10 hours door-to-door, with pickup from Split at 6:15 am and drop-off between 7:15 and 8 pm. If you're departing from Trogir instead, pickup is at 6:15 am from there. The Blue Cave entry ticket (€24, or €18 in shoulder season) is paid in cash on the boat. Weather is the only wildcard: if conditions at sea change, the captain can alter the route or skip the cave entirely for safety, and you'll get a full refund or a different date.

Is this one for you?The 90-minute speedboat ride and open-water conditions mean you need at least moderate fitness and a steady constitution. The tour is not suitable for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy. Children under 3 are not permitted, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. The early 6:15 am pickup and late evening return fit a full day of island-hopping into one booking, but only if you can handle the pace and the sea state.
