Ziplining Monteverde Cloud Forest: 9 cables through the canopy
Soar 2 kilometers above the forest on cables, swings, and a rappel adventure.
Ziplining in Monteverde Cloud Forest is a canopy activity where you travel across 9 cables through the cloud forest, including two superman positions, a Tarzan swing and a rappel descent. The experience takes up to 3 hours and includes hotel pickup from Monteverde or Santa Elena, all equipment (helmet, harness, gloves), safety instruction from a trained guide, and return transport. A short hike connects the cables; the activity operates in all weather.
The Experience
Monteverde zip line canopy starts with pickup at your hotel in the Monteverde or Santa Elena area in a modern minibus. Once you arrive at the adventure park, trained guides fit you with a helmet, harness and gloves, then walk you through the safety setup before you step onto the first cable. The route itself is 9 different cables strung through the cloud forest—two of them let you zip in a superman position, one is a Tarzan swing where you swing out over the forest before zipping forward, and one ends with a rappel descent back to solid ground.
The cables themselves are the draw: one stretches up to 2 kilometers across the canopy, giving you the distance and the view at once. Between cables you walk short sections through the forest with your guide. The whole activity—cables, swings, rappel and the hikes between them—takes up to 3 hours depending on group size. Once you finish the last cable, you head back to the park entrance and your guide drives you back to your hotel.
