The Experience

La Fortuna's zipline park opens the day with an adrenaline climb: you scale an 18-meter tower to launch across the first cable, then cross a hanging bridge to reach the longest line—980 meters suspended above La Fortuna Waterfall, with views down to the town. Seven cables total, speeds up to 70 km/hr, and the whole canopy section happens before lunch. An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and brings you back at the end of the day.

After ziplining, you move to the Balsa River for two hours of Class II-III white water rafting. Your guide handles the boat and navigation; you paddle, brace and move with the current through the rapids. The river section includes fresh fruit served on the water, and the day wraps with a typical Costa Rican lunch at Arenal Vida Campesina. All rafting gear—raft, paddles, vest and helmet—comes with you; the guide is multilingual and can lead in English or Spanish.

The nine-hour day is weather dependent: heavy rain or government river closures can trigger cancellation after booking, though you'll get an alternative date or full refund if that happens.
