You'll fly across 9 zip lines and 13 aerial platforms over the Arenal River canyon, walk through the forest to the Maleku Village for a 20-minute cultural introduction, then tube class 2 and 3 rapids for about 10 minutes before relaxing in the hot springs. The Experience
The morning begins with the canopy tour: 9 zip lines strung across 13 aerial platforms, a hanging bridge, and forest views where you'll spot three kinds of monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds and sloths if the timing is right. You're harnessed and briefed on each platform before you move, so the pace stays controlled even as the adrenaline builds. The platforms are positioned to show you the Arenal River canyon and the rain forest canopy from angles you can't reach on foot.
After the zipline work, a 5-minute walk through the forest brings you to the Maleku Village at the river's edge. The indigenous guides there give a 20-minute introduction to their culture, medicine and traditions—a real stop, not a photo op. Then you hike about 10 minutes to the river itself, get a safety briefing, and tube the class 2 and 3 rapids. The tubing stretch is short, but the water moves and the canyon walls close in around you.
The hot springs come last, when your legs are tired and your adrenaline has peaked. You soak, change in the provided rooms, and get driven back to your hotel. Private transportation is included throughout, so there's no waiting for a van to fill up or coordinating with other groups. The guide speaks English and stays with you the whole way.
