The day starts at the Salento Mirador, a lookout where you see down into the valley before descending into it. From there you walk through the Cocora Valley's wax palm forest for a few hours, moving through a landscape of the tallest palms on the planet rising up the mountainside. The guide navigates the peaceful zone and the route carries you through multiple viewpoints without backtracking.

After lunch, you arrive at a working coffee finca run by a single owner who grows everything by hand: no pesticides, no machinery. The entire process from seed to cup happens on the property, and you get to handpick a few beans yourself to understand what the work actually involves. The finca also grows a variety of fruits beyond coffee, so the tour covers more ground than a typical coffee stop.
