The experience
The day starts with pickup from your hotel and a drive through the Coffee Triangle's mountain landscape to reach Evelyza Farm. The owners welcome you and walk the fields to show how cacao grows from seed selection through harvesting the pods. This is not a passive tour: you move into the hands-on workshop where you roast the beans, grind them, and shape your own chocolate bar to take home.
After you finish crafting, the farm serves a tasting of its handmade chocolates paired with traditional Colombian snacks made from local ingredients. The workshop and tasting are the core of the day: the farm's owners and guides explain the techniques and the history of Colombian cacao as you work.
