The day starts with pickup from your hotel in one of four towns, then heads straight to Cocora Valley's entrance. The wax palm, Colombia's national tree, grows taller here than anywhere else on earth, and the hike takes you past groves of them rising above the mist. Your guide points out the environmental significance these trees hold for the region, and the landscape shifts as you move through different elevations. Mist and wind are part of the experience, not a problem to avoid. Bring a fully charged phone. The views demand pictures.

After the valley, the tour moves to Filandia, the second major town in the coffee region. You'll walk its vibrant streets lined with handicraft shops and traditional products, with mountain views breaking through from different angles. There's time to browse and rest before heading to Salento, where Paisa architecture (the distinctive colonial style of the region) fills every block.
