The experience

The day starts on Baofeng Lake, where you board a boat on water 75 meters deep ringed by sandstone peaks. Local singers perform as you cross, and afterward you walk to a waterfall dropping 75 meters and see giant salamanders in the shallows. From there the route moves to the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, the structure that held 10 world records when it opened in 2016. The bridge spans 430 meters and rises 350 meters above the canyon below. Walking across the transparent floor creates the sensation of standing on clouds.

After crossing the bridge, you descend into the Grand Canyon itself by elevator, zipline or slide. You choose which. Inside the gorge you hike alongside a clear stream, passing green cliffs, waterfalls and caves. The walk follows the water downstream until a boat carries you out of the canyon. A private guide leads the entire day and a private car handles all transport between sites. Entrance tickets to all three attractions, bottled water, and any zipline or slide fees are included. The only extras are meals and tips.
