The experience
The tour starts at Victoria Peak for the city's skyline views and a primer on Hong Kong's history, then moves through the old colonial streets of Hollywood Road and Sheung Wan where the British built the city. You'll see Man Mo Temple, one of the oldest Chinese temples in Hong Kong, and walk Cat Street's antique market before heading into the neighborhoods where locals actually spend their days: Wan Chai's bustling markets and routines, then Aberdeen Harbour, the old fishing village where fishermen still live and work. The guide handles the route and the stories. You move between stops by walking or driving depending on which option you book.
Meals and street food anchor the day. Dim sum breakfast happens in a teahouse packed with locals, not tourists, and the final meal at a dai pai dong, a traditional open-air food stall, is where you'll sit down with the guide and chat about the dishes and the neighborhood. In between, you'll taste different cuisines at places tourists don't find on their own. The guide speaks English throughout and knows which spots matter to residents, not which ones photograph best.
Hotel pickup and drop-off bookend the day, and the operator includes bottled water, snacks, coffee and tea. You'll need moderate fitness for the walking involved and should dress smart casual. If you have dietary requirements, mention them when you book.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 4).
What's the difference between the walking tour and the driving tour options?
Both cover the same six-hour route and stops: Victoria Peak, Hollywood Road, Man Mo Temple, Cat Street, Sheung Wan, Wan Chai, Aberdeen Harbour and a Star Ferry ride across Victoria Harbour. The walking tour moves through neighborhoods on foot. The driving tour covers more ground by vehicle and includes less walking between stops.
Do I need to arrange my own transport to the starting point?
No. Hotel pickup is included, so the guide meets you at your accommodation and brings you back there at the end of the day.
What is Man Mo Temple and why is it on the tour?
Man Mo Temple is one of the oldest Chinese temples in Hong Kong and shows how Taoist culture operates in the city. It's a working temple where locals worship, not a museum, and the guide explains its role in Hong Kong's folk history.
Will I eat lunch as part of this tour?
Yes. Dim sum breakfast is included at a local teahouse, and the tour ends with an authentic meal at a dai pai dong, a traditional open-air food stall where locals eat. Snacks, coffee and tea are also provided throughout the day. If you have dietary restrictions, let the operator know when you book.
What's Aberdeen Harbour and what will I see there?
Aberdeen Harbour is Hong Kong's old fishing village where fishermen still live and work today. You'll see their daily routines and the harbor itself, which is a significant piece of Hong Kong's history and a good spot for photos.
