The Experience
Four to six hours means you move at your own speed instead of keeping time with a group schedule. Your guide meets you at your hotel, airport or cruise terminal and walks you through the neighbourhoods that make Hong Kong feel like a working city rather than a postcard. Victoria Peak gives you the panoramic view, but the day doesn't stop there: you'll board the Star Ferry to cross Victoria Harbour, step into Wong Tai Sin Temple where fortune tellers work among the incense smoke, and navigate the Central–Mid-Levels Escalator—the longest covered outdoor moving walkway in the world. The route threads through Wan Chai's local food markets, Hollywood Road's first-street history, and Ladies Market where bargaining is expected.
Skip-the-line access to the Peak Tram saves you the queue at the base station, so the time you spend at the top isn't borrowed from somewhere else in the day. Public transportation—the MTR, buses, ferries and tram—moves you between stops; an Octopus transit card (recommended) works across all of them. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, French or one of two other languages, and knows which temples, markets and viewpoints work best for what you want to see. Children 16 and under don't pay, and strollers are available on request if you book ahead. Wheelchair access is available across all areas and surfaces, and the guides can adjust the route if mobility matters.
The guides are Amy and Stephen from the UK, Jami from the US, and Aubrey from Canada—a small team who say their main thing is meeting new people and chatting. They'll customize the core route based on what you email or WhatsApp them before the day starts. If you want to add Lantau Island and the Big Buddha or cross to Macau, they offer those as separate bookings.

How much does it cost to ride public transport during the tour?
Public transportation costs approximately HK$150 per adult or HK$70 for concessions (children, seniors). You'll use the MTR, buses, ferries and tram to move between stops, and an Octopus transit card is recommended for seamless payment across all systems.
What is the Central–Mid-Levels Escalator and why is it worth visiting?
The Central–Mid-Levels Escalator is the longest covered outdoor moving walkway in the world, and riding it is one of the quirkiest things to do on a Hong Kong trip. It connects the lower and upper levels of Central, and your guide will show you how locals use it as part of their daily commute.
Can I customize the route, or do I follow a fixed itinerary?
The tour is fully customized. There's a core of the best spots the guides like to show—Victoria Peak, the Star Ferry, Wong Tai Sin Temple, Ladies Market and others—but you can email or WhatsApp the guides before booking to discuss which stops matter most to you and adjust the route to your interests.
Are children free on this tour?
Children aged 16 and under join the tour free of charge and must be accompanied by an adult. Infant strollers are available on request if you let the guides know when you book.
What languages does the guide speak?
The guides speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and two additional languages. You'll be matched with a guide who speaks your language when you book.
Do I need to pay extra for the Peak Tram, or is it included?
Skip-the-line access to the Peak Tram is included in the tour price, so you won't wait in the queue at the base station. Public transportation costs for other stops (MTR, buses, ferries) are separate and run approximately HK$150 per adult.
