The experience

You meet your guide at Café Deli France in the arrival hall, and from there the 6 hours are yours to spend. The guide designs the route based on what draws you, whether that's the views from Victoria Peak, the street markets where locals buy food, or the oldest parts of the city. You choose between traveling in a private vehicle (all costs included) or using Hong Kong's public transport like a resident would. Either way, the guide navigates and explains what you're seeing.

The itinerary moves through layers of Hong Kong's history. Victoria Peak gives you the geography and an overview of where the day will take you. From there you walk through the British colonial streets and the old temple district on Hollywood Road, then into Wan Chai: a typical local suburb where you see how people actually live, shop for food at daily prices, and move through the energy of a working neighborhood. Snacks are offered along the way. At Aberdeen Harbour, you get a look at the old fishing village and the boats and boathouses where fishermen still live on the water. A sampan ride is optional if you want it.

Lunch is a local Cantonese dim sum experience at a restaurant where residents eat: what the guide calls "Chinese Tapas," served with tea and a variety of famous local dishes. The guide handles the timing so you're back at the airport with time to spare before your departure. Bottled water, coffee or tea, and the guide's knowledge are included. You'll need a minimum 9-hour layover to make this work without rushing.
