The experience

The tour runs eight hours and covers the south side of Hong Kong Island in a single arc. Your driver-guide picks you up from your hotel or the cruise port, then takes you first to Victoria Peak (at 552 meters the highest point on the island), where you climb to Sky Terrace 428, the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong, standing at 428 meters above sea level. The terrace offers a 360-degree panoramic view across the harbour and the city. From there the route moves down to Aberdeen Harbour on the south coast, where traditional junks still sit anchored between the modern waterfront, then continues to Repulse Bay, one of the island's most expensive residential areas, and Stanley Market, a traditional open-air street market.

The final stop is Victoria Harbour itself, the natural deep-water harbour that separates Hong Kong Island from Kowloon and shaped the city's history as a trading centre.
