The experience

The day starts with pickup between 11:00 and 11:45 a.m. depending on whether you're staying in Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake, then moves through three properties in a single itinerary. You walk the production facilities at each winery and distillery, taste wines and spirits as they're poured, and sit down for lunch at Peller Estates, where you can order food or spend time photographing the grounds if you prefer. The tour wraps with drop-off back at your accommodation.

Peller Estates has been making wine for over 50 years and sources grapes from four Niagara-on-the-Lake appellations. Trius Winery does the same, specializing in VQA wines for four decades. Wayne Gretzky Estates is Niagara's only destination winery and distillery combined, so you taste both wine and spirits there. A live guide in English leads the whole experience and handles the logistics. You don't arrange transport or coordinate between stops.

The vehicle is a black Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, air-conditioned throughout the 6- to 7-hour day. All tastings are included at each of the three properties. Lunch is a reservation you make at Peller Estates, though roaming the property for photos is an option if you'd rather skip the meal.
