Angkor Wat tour from Phnom Penh: Three temples in one day
Three temples in a single overland journey from the capital
A full-day tour from Phnom Penh that combines overland transport to Siem Reap with guided exploration of Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm, ending with a return drive to Phnom Penh. You travel by air-conditioned van or SUV with an English-speaking driver, meet a local guide at Angkor Park, and pass through Cambodian villages on the drive north. The trip takes 16 to 17 hours total, including the temples and the road time.
The experience
You start with pickup from your Phnom Penh hotel or Techo International Airport, then settle in for the overland drive to Siem Reap. The route passes through rural Cambodia, where you'll see tropical villages and the landscape change as you move north. Water and bathroom breaks are built into the journey, so the long drive breaks naturally into stages.
At Angkor Park, you meet your English-speaking guide and begin exploring the three temples. Angkor Wat itself is the largest religious monument in the world; Bayon sits at the center of the ancient city with its famous stone faces; Ta Prohm is the temple where tree roots have grown through the walls and towers. Your guide handles the route between them and explains what you're standing in front of. Depending on which option you book, the temple entrance fee may be included or you'll pay it separately on arrival.
The return drive to Phnom Penh follows the same route in reverse, dropping you at your hotel or the airport. The van or SUV seats up to eight passengers with luggage, so families and small groups travel together without splitting up. Gasoline, tolls, parking, and the driver's time are all covered. Bring cash if you want drinks or small purchases along the way.

Is this one for you?Choose this tour if you're based in Phnom Penh and want to see all three major temples without arranging separate transport. The long drive is the trade-off for reaching Angkor and returning home in one day. If you prefer to stay overnight in Siem Reap and explore at a slower pace, a multi-day option would suit you better.
