The experience
If you're arriving in Phnom Penh and want to reach Angkor Wat without arranging separate transport, this tour handles the full route in two days. The first day is the drive itself: you leave your hotel in the morning and head north through countryside and villages, stopping at Oudong Hill to climb the steps to its summit and see the stupas of former kings, then at Skun Market to watch local life unfold around its famous fried spiders. You'll eat a traditional Khmer lunch at Prey Pros Lake and cross the ancient stone bridge at Kampong Kdei before arriving in Siem Reap by evening. The second day starts before dawn. Your guide meets you at the hotel and takes you to Angkor Wat to watch sunrise light up the temple's carved faces, then leads you through Bayon (known for its giant smiling stone heads), the Terrace of the Elephants, Baphuon and Ta Nei. After the temple tour, you're driven back to Phnom Penh or stay in Siem Reap, depending on which option you chose at checkout.
The guide is a local English speaker who knows the temple history and pauses at photo spots. The driver is professional and speaks English. Cold water is provided during the drive. You'll need to buy your own Angkor temple pass at the ticket counter on arrival (they take cash and card), and meals beyond the one traditional lunch are on you. A French-speaking guide at the temples costs an extra USD 20 if you want that instead.
What’s included

- cold water drinks.
- hotel pickup and drop-off in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (under 3): free.
What time does the tour leave Phnom Penh on day one?
The tour begins with hotel pickup in the morning, though the exact time depends on your hotel location and the operator's schedule for that departure. Confirm the pickup window when you book.
Do I have to buy the Angkor temple pass myself, or is it included?
You buy the pass yourself at the ticket counter when you arrive. It is not included in the tour price. The operator stops at the counter on the way to the temple so you can purchase it there, and they accept both cash and credit cards.
Can I stay in Siem Reap instead of returning to Phnom Penh on day two?
Yes. You choose at checkout whether to return to Phnom Penh after the temple tour or conclude the tour in Siem Reap, which is useful if you want to stay longer or continue travel from there.
What is the Kampong Kdei bridge, and why do we stop there?
The Kampong Kdei bridge is a historic stone bridge built during the Angkor era. The stop is brief and gives you a chance to see this ancient structure and take photos before continuing to Siem Reap.
Is the traditional Khmer lunch included, or do I need to pay extra?
The lunch at Prey Pros Lake is included in the tour. Other meals are not included and are your own cost.
