The experience

The day starts at the Coffee Museum, where you have breakfast at the on-site coffee shop and tour the eclectic 1922 building, originally the Santos Stock Exchange, to learn how coffee shaped Brazil's economy. The museum lets you taste freshly ground varieties and showcases the city's wealth during its coffee boom, with details like Carrara marble and Bohemian crystal chandeliers still visible in the architecture.

Next is the Monte Serrat funicular, a cable car that climbs to a hilltop viewpoint every half hour. From the top, you see the port, downtown Santos, the Bertioga Canal, and nearby islands. A 17th-century Chapel of Our Lady of Monte Serrat sits at the peak. Then you head to Porchat Island to stand at Oscar Niemeyer's monument (a belvedere built for Brazil's 500th anniversary in 2002), where the view stretches across the entire shoreline, ships on the horizon, and paragliders overhead. This is where most visitors choose to stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant, though you can also spend time on the beach instead.

The tour ends at Santos' beachfront, which holds the Guinness record for the world's largest beachfront garden. The stretch has exercise stations, cycle tracks, vendors, and long white sand for swimming or relaxing. Your guide handles all driving and logistics. If your group is larger than four, a separate driver joins so the guide can focus on the stops. Hotel pickup and drop-off within São Paulo and its greater area are included, along with all tolls, parking and taxes.
