The experience
The Coffee Museum anchors the first half of the day. Opened in 1998, it holds documents, objects and audiovisual displays that show how coffee cultivation shaped Brazil's political and economic development from the mid-18th century onward. After that comes the Pelé Museum, free to enter, where you walk through the personal collection of Edson Arantes do Nascimento: jerseys, cleats, balls, awards and trophies from a career the museum frames as the greatest of the 20th century. Both sit in Santos' historic center, which the guide navigates with you.
The second half shifts to the coast. Enseada Beach in Guarujá has the infrastructure for a real afternoon: restaurants line the waterfront, kiosks dot the sand, and rentals (bikes, surfboards, jet skis) sit ready if you want them. You swim in the ocean, eat local food, and the air-conditioned vehicle waits to bring you back. The tour runs eight hours total. Because pickup and drop-off happen at a time and place you choose (not a fixed hotel or a set hour), you can build the rest of your day around it: an early start if you want the museums quiet, or a late one if you're coming from somewhere else in São Paulo first.
Monte Serrat, one of Santos' symbols, sits on the itinerary as well. A 416-step staircase climbs the hill past 14 niches carved with the Stations of the Cross, or you can take the traditional funicular tram to the top. At the summit, an old casino building now serves for leisure, and the panoramic view takes in the historic center, the waterfront and the port. The guide speaks English, Spanish or Portuguese, and the vehicle is air-conditioned throughout.
