The Experience

We met Russo right at the Sheraton in Leblon—he’s lived in Vidigal most of his life and honestly, you can tell. I still think about those steep alleys and how everyone seemed to know Russo by name. You get sweaty climbing up but no one cares; people nod or smile as you pass. By the time we wound back down through shortcuts lined with more street art, it felt like we’d seen a side of Rio most visitors miss—even if my legs complained later.
