The experience
Christ the Redeemer sits at the top of the itinerary. You'll take the train up and stand in front of the statue with a guide who speaks your language. From there the tour moves to the beaches: Copacabana first, then Ipanema, where the description notes the cultural energy and the light that draws artists. Arpoador is a short stop for the view across both beaches, and if you're going in the late afternoon, you'll catch the sunset from there.
The middle of the day takes you to a park in Leblon, a neighborhood preserve where locals come to exercise and picnic, and the lookouts there frame some of Rio's major landmarks. By late afternoon you're at Copacabana Fort, a military fortress open to the public. The fort is the last stop, and it's built around a specific moment: you sit down with a coffee and watch the sunset over Copacabana Beach from the ramparts. The whole route runs five to six hours, with an air-conditioned vehicle and a driver who knows where to stop.
Bottled water is included, and so are all the entrance fees: Christ the Redeemer, the beaches and parks, and the fort. The minimum age is 21. Pickup from your hotel is part of the booking.
Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to see Rio's most recognizable landmarks and end the day at a quieter vantage point. The fort gives you a different angle on the city and a moment to sit down as the light changes, rather than moving straight through beaches and viewpoints without pause.
