The Experience
You don't need to know how to swim. An instructor stays with you the entire way, guiding you hand in hand as you learn to breathe underwater and adjust to the pressure. Once you're ready, you descend to a depth between 3 and 8 meters.
The 30-minute dive itself is where you experience the sensation the program is built around: being on the sea floor in a natural pool, surrounded by marine life and rock formations, with an instructor watching every move. The whole outing—from the beach briefing through the dive and back out of the water—takes about one hour and twenty minutes total.
Instructors offer personalized attention by appointment, which means smaller groups and the chance to move at your own pace through adaptation. The program is wheelchair accessible, and public transportation reaches João Fernandes Beach. Children from age 8 can participate, and guides conduct the experience in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
