The experience

The tour starts with a choice: take the preset 5-hour route that covers the island's main attractions, or build your own day from a list of options. The standard loop passes through Hamilton, the capital midway down the island and the main shopping hub. St. George's, the UNESCO-listed historic town at the eastern end founded in 1612; Horseshoe Bay, the island's most popular beach on the southern coast; and stops at Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, the caves, Fort Scaur and the Royal Naval Dockyard at the western tip. If you want to linger at a beach, sit down for lunch at a restaurant, or spend an hour inside Crystal and Fantasy Caves (each cave takes about an hour to tour), you'll need more than 5 hours: extra time runs at $165 per hour and can be added on the spot.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats up to 13 passengers with their luggage. A live guide in English travels with you and knows the stops well enough to answer questions about what you're seeing. Pickup is included, so you don't arrange your own transport to the first stop. Most attractions along the route have food and bar service on site, though you pay for meals and drinks separately. The caves have a gift shop and restaurant, Horseshoe Bay has a seasonal bar, and the Dockyard has dining options. If you want to climb the 185 steps inside Gibbs Hill Lighthouse for the views, that's $2.50. Entry fees to attractions like the caves ($24–$35 per person depending on which ones), the aquarium ($10), or Fort St. Catherine ($3–$7) are separate from the tour price.

The minimum booking is 5 hours at $165 per hour, totaling $825 for the group, not per person. That flat rate means a family of four or a group of ten pays the same amount for the same 5-hour window. If you're traveling with infants or small children, they can ride in a stroller or sit on an adult's lap. The tour works for all fitness levels, though some stops involve walking and the lighthouse climb is optional.

Is this one for you?The 5-hour standard route packs the whole island into one afternoon, so it suits travelers on a tight schedule or a cruise port call. If you want to slow down (spend time at a beach, eat a sit-down lunch, or explore the caves), book extra hours at checkout and customize the stops to match your pace.

Top questions

What's included in the $825 base price for 5 hours?

Private transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a live English-speaking guide, and pickup are included. Attraction entry fees, meals, drinks and any optional activities like climbing the lighthouse are separate.

Can I visit both Crystal and Fantasy Caves in one tour?

Yes, but plan for about an hour per cave. Entry is $24 per cave or $35 for both. If you add cave time to a 5-hour tour, you'll likely need extra hours beyond the standard package.

How does the hourly rate work if I want to stay longer than 5 hours?

The base rate is $165 per hour for the entire group. If you book 5 hours and then decide to add 2 more, you pay an additional $330 for those hours at the same rate per person.

What's the difference between the standard tour and a customized one?

The standard 5-hour tour follows a set route hitting Hamilton, St. George's, Horseshoe Bay, Gibbs Hill Lighthouse and other main points. A customized tour lets you pick which stops to visit and how long to spend at each one, within your total booked hours.

Is Horseshoe Bay Beach walkable from the main road, or do I need to plan extra time there?

Horseshoe Bay is Bermuda's most popular beach and has food and bar service on site. It connects to a system of other beaches you can explore, so most visitors spend at least an hour there if it's on the itinerary.
