Barbados Ziplining Tour: Monkey Zipline & Rum Tasting
You zipline above the canopy, then taste rum on the ground where it was invented.
Zip from a platform 120 feet above Harrison's Cave on the Monkey Zipline, then walk the nature trail and taste three Mount Gay rums with a guide at the Rum History Museum. The experience runs 2.5 hours and includes harness, gloves, protective headgear, air-conditioned vehicle pickup, and the guided tasting. Minimum age is 18; sneakers and full-length pants are required, and no cameras or phones go on the zipline itself.
The Experience
The Monkey Zipline launches you from a platform 120 feet up, crisscrossing through the canopy above Harrison's Cave. Once you're back on the ground, the pace shifts: you walk the Pride of Barbados Nature Trail and Bird Aviary, learning the tropical plants and animals on the property. The harness, gloves and helmet stay with you—they're included—so the only thing you arrange is showing up in sneakers and long pants.
The rum tasting happens at the Mount Gay Rum History Museum, where a guide walks you through the story of the world's oldest commercial rum distillery and lets your taste buds do the work. You sample three different Mount Gay blends and take selfies at the iconic Harrison's Cave mural in the Rum Lounge. Between activities, the Green Monkey Pool Bar & Grill is there if you want drinks or quick bites (those are on you). The whole thing runs 2.5 hours, and the air-conditioned vehicle picks you up and brings you back.
Cruise passengers have one fixed arrival time: 11:00 am, timed so you're back at the port before the ship leaves. If you book a later slot, you'll be asked to reschedule. Land-based travelers can choose 9:00 am, 1:00 pm, or 11:00 am depending on the option.
