The experience

You arrive at Harrison's Cave and start with a warm welcome, then move into a guided rum tasting where a local expert walks you through Mount Gay Rum: its distillation, heritage and place in Barbadian culture. After that comes the hands-on part: you step into the kitchen with an expert local guide and prepare flying fish with green bananas and a traditional rum-glazed bread pudding, learning the stories woven into each dish as you cook. The guide teaches you the techniques and the why behind them, not just the steps.

Once everything is ready, you sit down with the other participants to eat what you made, paired with a signature island cocktail. The meal is a casual moment to share what stood out, swap stories, and connect over food that you built together. After you eat, you can browse the gift shop for recipe cards and local goods to take home.

Your ticket also opens the rest of Harrison's Cave to you: the swimming pool and bird aviary are yours to explore before or after the class, so you can stretch the afternoon if your schedule allows. Bring any allergies or dietary needs to the booking so the guide can plan around them.

Is this one for you?Book this class if you're arriving with a free afternoon or have a few hours between other plans: pickup is included, so you don't need a rental car or local transport to get there. The 3-hour window fits neatly into a morning or afternoon without eating up your whole day.
