The Experience

You start in Yulara, minutes from Ayers Rock Airport, so there's no long transfer eating into your time. The first afternoon takes you straight to Kata Tjuta, where you hike between the 36 domes and watch the light shift across Uluru as the sun sets. That evening you're in a powered camp with shared facilities—a soft landing into the outback, not a rough one.

The second day begins before dawn. You're at Uluru for sunrise, when the rock catches the first light like a beacon, and your guide walks you through significant cultural sites, sharing Anangu rock art and creation stories. Once the morning cools, you do the full base walk of Uluru at your own pace, seeing the textures and valleys up close. After lunch at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre, where you can buy art hand-crafted by local First Nations artists, you settle into camp for the night.

Day three is Kings Canyon. The rim walk takes in the canyon's most famous spots—the Lost City, Garden of Eden, Amphitheatre, and the North and South Walls—all enclosed by sheer rock many meters high. The canyon shelters over 600 native plant and animal species, and your guide points them out as you trek. That evening you have a choice: book an optional camel cruise, drone display, or Sounds of Silence dinner, or return free of charge to watch the Uluru sunset from a different angle. On your departure day, a free 10-minute transfer takes you to either the Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara or straight to the airport, depending on your flight time.

What does the Kings Canyon rim walk include?

The Kings Canyon Rim Walk covers the canyon's most famous locations: the Lost City, Garden of Eden, Amphitheatre, and the North and South Walls. Your guide points out native plants and animals along the way; the canyon is home to over 600 species.

What kind of accommodation do I get each night?

You stay in a powered eco tent with bed linen, pillow and towel, using shared camp facilities. Power is available, so you can charge devices overnight.

Is the airport transfer included?

Yes. On your departure day, a free 10-minute transfer takes you either to the Desert Gardens Hotel in Yulara or directly to Ayers Rock Airport, depending on your flight time.
