The Experience

"See that shadow? That’s where the rock drinks when it rains," our pilot, Matt, said as we lifted off from Ayers Rock Resort. I was still fiddling with my headset when Uluru came into view—so much red it almost looked unreal, but then you notice the little scars and grooves up close.
