Step-by-step itinerary

Maipú winery breakfast and blending

  • Pick up passengers from hotels
  • Breakfast at Casa Corbel winery
  • Learn artisanal wine making and tasting
  • Travel to Don Manuel Villafañe winery
  • Participate in Blending Game activity
  • Create and take home custom wine label
  • Enjoy 3-course paired lunch

The experience

The day begins with pickup from your Mendoza hotel or accommodation, then moves straight into a countryside breakfast at Casa Corbel, an artisanal winery in Maipú. While you eat, the winery walks you through how they make wine by hand, and you taste their wines as you go. This sets up what comes next: you'll understand the raw materials before you start working with them.

At Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe, the blending game starts. You get to mix different grape varieties yourself: combining cepajes to create a blend that tastes the way you want it to. This is not a lecture or a tasting. You're making decisions about the proportions, tasting as you adjust, and building something with your own hands. Once the blend is finished, you design an artisanal label for the bottle, which becomes your souvenir from the day. The winery then serves a three-course lunch with wine pairings, so you eat and drink in the space where you just worked.

The group travels in an air-conditioned vehicle between the two wineries. A Spanish-speaking guide leads throughout. Children from age three are welcome, and infants can sit on an adult's lap. The whole experience runs about six hours from pickup to drop-off.

Top questions

Can children come?

Yes. Ticket types: Youth (10 to 17 years); Child (3 to 9 years). Children under 3 can't be included in the booking.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.

What exactly do I do during the blending game at Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe?

You mix different grape varieties together in the proportions you choose, tasting the blend as you adjust it until it tastes right to you. Once you've settled on your blend, you design and create an artisanal label for the bottle, which you take home as a keepsake from the day.

Does the breakfast at Casa Corbel come before or after the blending?

The countryside breakfast at Casa Corbel happens first, in Maipú. While you eat, the winery explains their hand-made winemaking process and you taste their wines, so you understand the grapes and techniques before you move on to the blending activity.

What is included in the three-course lunch at Bodega Don Manuel Villafañe?

The lunch is a three-course menu with wine pairings served at the bodega. It happens after the blending activity, so you eat in the same space where you just created your blend.

Is the guide fluent in English, or only Spanish?

The guide leads the experience in Spanish. If you speak Spanish or travel with someone who does, the guide will walk you through both wineries and the blending process in that language.
